Shipping Update! Variants Arrive!

Hello Awesome Backers:

I received news from my printer that the books will arrive in port on Oct. 30 which puts it at my doorstep around November 6. I was hoping it would be sooner, but at least they are on their way. My fulfillment team is in place, which means we'll be able to get them out faster. Yah!  Also, the variants have arrived and they look awesome. 

My plan is to sign, bag, and board the variants this weekend as well as to prep the stretch goal magnets. The metal variant proofs are being shipped to me Monday. I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like. 

I'm still traveling a lot taking care of my Dad's house, so if I don't get back to messages quickly, that's why. But I will get back to you.

Variant Proofs Have Arrived!

Hello Awesome Backers:

The variant cover proofs have arrived and look terrific.

I have approved them, so they will go into production this week. It'll take a couple of weeks before they arrive, but that works out well as the main covers will not arrive until end of October. I'll be ordering the proofs for the metal variants this week. When they come in I will be sure to share them here. 

ROSE CITY COMIC CON

For those of you who live in the Pacific Northwest, I will be at Rose City Comic Con this coming weekend (Sept. 22-24). It will be my last Con of the season, except for a small local event. (Indie Author Day - November 5. Anaheim Central Library)  Please stop by my table (Y-02) and say hi if you are there.

Quick Progress Update

Hello Awesome Backers:

I'm happy to report that I have approved the proofs for Issues 1 and 2 (Wu Cover).  That means we are still on track for an October fulfillment. I will send out Backerkit surveys about two weeks before they are due to arrive. In the meantime, I will be ordering proofs for the two variant covers and the metal covers next week before I leave for Baltimore Comic Con. I will be using a U.S. printer for the variants, so the turn around time will be shorter. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Issue 3

Elisabeth has turned in the roughs for the first 14 pages and I expect the last 15 pages of roughs in soon. I already have the variant covers in for issues 3 and 4 as well as Angela's cover for Issue 3. I will share those in the upcoming months.

Where That Leaves Us

Due to the passing of my father and Elisabeth's work schedule, I've decided to wait until early next year (2024) to run the Kickstarter for issues 3 and 4. This will allow time to finish both issues 3 and 4, as well as give me breathing space to organize another Kickstarter.

I'm Back, Sort of. But Issue 2 is Done!

Hello Awesome Backers:

First of all, thank you for all the wonderful and thoughtful condolences over the recent loss of my father. I greatly appreciate it.

As for Issue two, it is done and with the printer. Yah! There are some technical things that need to be fixed before I give it the thumbs up to print, and as luck would have it, my printer is on vacation all of next week. It's a minor delay, but I'd rather wait and get it right. This puts us solidly into an October delivery date. As I may have mentioned before, I'll be handling fulfillment a little differently this time by hiring a couple of friends to come over and do one massive packaging date to get as many out as possible all at once. This means you won't have to wait for my husband and I to get it all done ourselves. That's a win-win.  :) Variant and metal covers will be ordered once we solve the technical issues.

If you have any questions, I am still in and out of town on a regular basis packing up my father's house and taking care of all the legal stuff, so if I don't get back to you quickly, that's why.

I think that's it for now. I'll have more for you later on the status of issues 3 and 4.

Important News - Please Read

Dear Awesome Backers:

Due to the recent passing of my father, I will be taking a two week hiatus from this project. I will still be attending San Diego Comic Con, but my responsibilities to my family as the executor take precedent and I probably won't be answering emails, questions, comments, etc. in a timely fashion.

Though Issue 2 is with the letterer, I'm not sure if I will be getting it to pre-press before I leave for San Diego. I like to review proofs with a clear and rested mind, which is not possible at this time. What this means is that delivery will be pushed out to September/October depending on when the comics are delivered by the printer. All physical stretch goals have arrived.

As usual I will keep you posted.
